Sibling Contact Survey Opportunity for Carers
Share Your Experiences of Sibling Placements in Care - $50 Thank You Gift
Staff at the Parenting Research Centre (PRC) are working with the Queensland Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety on a research project to better understand how decisions are made about placing brothers and sisters in out-of-home care.
Are siblings placed together or apart? How are those decisions made, and how do things turn out?
We’re inviting carers to take part in a 30-minute interview to share their experiences with sibling placements. These interviews can take place online or over the phone, and carers will receive a $50 gift card to thank them for their time.
Participation is entirely voluntary, and anything you share will be confidential. If you’re interested, Contact PRC directly by emailing the project researcher, Leigh Wilks, at lwilks@parentingrc.org.au
Once you get in touch, Leigh will follow up to explain more about the project and answer any questions. After hearing more, you may decide not to participate – and that’s completely okay. You’re also welcome to have a support person with you during the interview.
Participation is confidential. Your involvement and any information you provide will not be shared with us, and results will only be reported in grouped form with no identifying details.
If you have questions or concerns, you can also contact Dr Gina-Maree Sartore from the Parenting Research Centre on 0458 898 280.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to help improve support for siblings and carers in the out-of-home care system.
