Casework
Need support and advocacy from QFKC?
Call our office on 07 3256 6166 from Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Our team will connect you with an On-Call Case Officer to discuss your matter further.
Our Case Work team provides dedicated support and advocacy to foster and kinship carers across Queensland when challenges arise in their caring role.
With a strong understanding of Queensland’s child protection system, our experienced team supports carers to understand processes, consider their options, communicate their views and have their voices heard. Support may include Standard of Care Reviews, Harm Reports, Reportable Conduct matters, Blue Card matters, complaints, communication and relationship challenges, placement decisions and other issues affecting carers and their caring role.
Case Officers can also support carers to navigate review processes, including assistance with Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) applications and documentation, and the preparation of affidavits and other information for Children’s Court matters. Where specialist legal advice is required, carers can be connected with our HUB Community Legal Service.
Whether you are navigating a formal process, experiencing difficulties within the system or simply unsure of your next steps, our Case Work team is here to provide guidance, advocacy and support.
Legal HUB Program
Our HUB Community Legal Service provides free legal advice with specialised knowledge in Child Protection through the Case Work Program. With your consent, we can arrange a confidential consultation where you’ll receive trusted guidance tailored to your circumstances.
Carers can access support through HUB for any Reviewable Decisions – for example, decisions about family contact or the removal of a child from a placement – and will be supported throughout the QCAT or Children’s Court processes. In some situations, legal representation may be available; however, this is considered on a case-by-case basis.
