Extra-Curricular Activity Boost Survey | Department Survey
Department Seeking Feedback from Carers
Dear Families,
As you know, the Queensland Government increased the annual allowance for each child and young person living in a care arrangement by $1,500 to support participation in extracurricular activities.
Foster carers, kinship carers, provisionally approved carers and guardians receive this support through a biannual Extracurricular Activities Boost payment of $750.
The first two payments have now been delivered, with boosts paid in July 2025 and January 2026 to approximately 5,700 carers and guardians, supporting children and young people across Queensland.
We encourage you to share how your family has used the Boost payments and any positive ways that extracurricular activities have supported the wellbeing, confidence, or development of the children and young people in your care.
Please take a few minutes to completing the survey here: Extracurricular Activity Boost Payment Survey
The survey closes on Monday, 18 May 2026.
No identifiable information is collected, and all responses will help inform future improvements to the program.
If you have any questions about the Boost payments or the survey, please contact the team at carerboostpayment@families.qld.gov.au
Thank you for everything you do to support children and young people, and for helping us understand what is making a real difference for Queensland’s children and young people in care.
